Thriving in Place: Maria Budner - Jumping Off Point

Photography allows me the opportunity to capture the world around me and the ability to creatively use those captures to express ideas and concepts. I have been working with digital for the past 10 years and truly appreciate the creative possibilities it engenders.

In the photo “Jumping Off Point” I intended to portray what many of us are facing right now—a sense of a changing past and an uncertain future with unknown rules.  Where do we go from here? Is that place of moving forward one of fear? hope? resignation to the certainty of change? Do we remain immobile or trust in the future?
